Coaching
The “Coaching” page is divided into 2 sections:
The SOCIETALogy Institute specializes in two interrelated fields: the study of societies as associations, and the study of citizens as associates.
1 – Our first specialty enables us to understand how citizens organize themselves to live together, and how this organization facilitates or hinders the:
-
-
-
-
- Development as well as the social and societal integration of citizens.
- Functioning and development of our governments.
- Functioning and development of our societies.
-
-
-
SOCIETALogically speaking, our societies are our primary organizations. As such, the aims and objectives we collectively seek to achieve and realize affect not only all citizens, but all other organizations too.
2 – Our second specialty enables us to identify the knowledge we must possess as citizens in order to fully play our role as associates. This knowledge enables us to behave ethically.
Societalogically speaking, since we all play the role of associates, which implies that we must participate in the management of our societies, citizenship must therefore be seen as a form of profession. To be more precise, it’s our primary profession.
The resulting ethical behavior must necessarily influence the actions we take when practicing our second trade or profession, because all our actions must be compatible with our civic ethics.
Using the basic societalogical knowledge that societies are our primary organizations and that citizenship is our primary profession, we offer coaching sessions to help our fellow citizens to reach either the:
-
-
-
- “Competent” Level
- “Proficient” or “Expert” Level
-
-
To Reach the “Competent” Level
The better the citizens, the better the societies.
Societalogically speaking, we should all have attained this level of competence before finishing high school. Unfortunately, the immense scientific vacuum that envelops our societies has meant that knowledge has not been available.
A better understanding of our role as citizens can have a positive impact on our well-being, as it enables us to identify personal, social and collective goals and objectives to be achieved, which can help us to self-actualize. (Maslow’s Pyramid of Needs)
It’s for this reason that, to reach the “competent” level, we need to acquire the knowledge and develop the skills that will enable us to become competent towards:
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
- Ourselves (Personal Competence)
- Others (Social competence)
- The collectivity (Societal competence)
-
-
-
-
-
-
All this enables us to have a positive impact on ourselves, our family members, friends and colleagues, while facilitating our social and societal integration.
With a better idea of who we are, who we live with and where we live, it becomes easier to identify what we want to achieve for ourselves, for others and for our local, national or intermediate communities.
If you think this might be of interest to you, the institute offers online or in-person coaching. However, the in-person service is currently only available in the Gatineau/Ottawa region.
To Reach the “Proficient” or “Expert” Level
The better our civic professionals will be; the better our governments and our societies will be.
The vast majority of our civic professionals, at least in democratic countries, are already professionals and have already achieved a certain level of competence. What’s more, some of them have a certain intuition that is compatible with the development of a balanced society.
However, like the rest of us, they are all affected, by our generalized collective ignorance.
If you are:
