Why

Why Create the Institute?

There are several reasons why the SOCIETALogy Institute was created.

First Reason:
Increase our Citizen Quotient

The first, of course, is to combat our generalized collective ignorance, which stems from the enormous scientific void that affects all our societies, and therefore all of us.

This void explains why our citizen quotient is so low. Indeed, we cannot become competent in a subject if there is no science to guide us.

For example, in the past, the absence of scientific knowledge led some doctors to believe that the brain was just a big radiator through which the body’s heat dissipated. For them, it was in the heart that our intellectual activity took place, because only the heart made noise. Today, we still hear hints of this past when we tell our children that they must learn certain things by heart.

By combating our generalized collective ignorance, this will enable all citizens to be “competent” and our civic professionals (our elected representatives, public leaders and administrators, civil servants, etc.) to reach the level of “proficient” or “expert.”

Second reason:
For a Positive Citizen and Governmental Footprint

By increasing our level of competence, it enables us, as citizens, to have a positive citizen footprint on our governments and societies.

Furthermore, societalogy enables our civic professionals to acquire the necessary knowledge and develop the associated skills that will help them reach the “proficient” or “expert” level in the management of our societies. It is on this basis that they will be able to ensure that our governments have a positive governmental footprint on both our citizens and our societies.

Increasing citizen competence is an essential step, because until we have acquired the necessary knowledge and developed the essential skills that make us competent citizens, it’s impossible to have constructive, professional and respectful dialogues.

Third reason:
Implement best societal practices.

However, the main reason why the Institute was created is to help identify and promote societal best practices, thus the individual, group and collective actions that facilitate the development of balanced societies.

Naturally, one cannot be achieved without the other. To this end, the Institute has created two initiatives. The first is called “One Concept at a Time” and aims to pass on the knowledge and best practices that facilitate the:

          1. Development, the social and societal integration of our fellow citizens.
          2. Functioning and development of our governments.
          3. Functioning and development of our societies.

This knowledge will be conveyed through explanatory videos published on the Institute’s YouTube channel. The channel is called “Societally Yours!” You can view the list of planned videos on the page One Concept at a Time.

The second is a community of citizen practices. This community called Citizens and Societies, whose slogan is: “Building Balanced Societies Together” will help us to have constructive, professional and respectful dialogues. It is through these dialogues that we will be able to identify which best practices we should implement in our societies and how to implement them.

The latter initiative will only be launched when “Societally Yours!” has reached one thousand subscribers.

If you like these two initiatives and want to help the Institute make them a reality, you can do so by making a financial contribution. Among other things, your help will enable us to produce the videos more quickly. They will be used as teaching aids within the Citizens and Societies community of practice.

These two initiatives are complemented by the following four services:

          1. Coaching
          2. Training
          3. Strategic Planning
          4. Conferences

While the first two initiatives are broadly public initiatives, the services are offered primarily to meet more specific needs.

Voilà, you now have a clear idea of why the Institute was created. Please feel free to visit our other pages to learn more about the Institute and its services. If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Thank you,
